In this entry of The Blog and Pony Show, Slee intern Jorge Hermez shares his aspirations.
As a recent graduate from the University of South Florida, I have been dying to get out in the real world. Interning with Schifino Lee will look great on my resume, allow me to build my portfolio, and will give me the necessary experience to get there.
I wish to accomplish so much in life and this internship is the first step towards that. From this internship I wish to be a part of as many projects as possible, advance my graphic design skills, and learn how to be a team player.
Interning makes me feel like a kid again. My mind is a sponge, and I’m observing everything around me. I’ll make the most of this time here and learn as much as possible. I’m looking forward to every minute of it.
So far the “ad world” is everything I expected and more. It’s fast paced, challenging, and so much fun. At Schifino Lee everyone works together, and at a mile a minute. I’ll have to learn how to handle different projects at a time and how to work fast. I plan on pushing myself to my limits, and I think they do too.
I look forward to being exposed to as much work as possible and taking advantage of all of the resources around me. This is only my second day in so we’ll see what they have in store for me.
Jorge Hermez is from San Francisco, CA and went to high school in Madrid, Spain. He is a graduate of the University of South Florida Zimmerman Progam and is on his way to being a professional advertising art director.
